Apple Cinnamon Desert
Posted on | October 20, 2008 |
It is that time of year again where apples are in season and are falling from trees ready for collection. The great thing about the apple season is that the winter is drawing in, the weather is getting cold, the evenings are getting darker earlier, so what better than do use apples in a great warming desert!
This desert is really easy to prepare and is really tasty - a great dish for those cold evenings.
Ingredients (Serves 2):
3 large apples - cored, peeled, and chopped
Breadcrumbs - about 4 slices
2 tsp of cinnamon, plus a little more for sprinkling
4 tsp of brown sugar, plus a little more for sprinkling
Custard (optional)
- Pre-heat the oven to 200C. Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon over the apple pieces in a baking dish and place in oven for 7-10mins until soft.
- Also place the breadcrumbs in the oven until crispy - this will only take 3-4 mins! Set aside
- Once the apples are done, place in serving dishes and sprinkle over the breadcrumbs. Sprinkle over some brown sugar and cinnamon. Pour over some custard.
