Getting a new kitchen - a hard decision

Posted on | October 21, 2008 |

I’m considering getting a new kitchen installed since I use it all the time and get a lot of pleasure from it - surely that is a reason to spend a few grand on it? Well I’ve been looking at a few kitchen ranges and think I’m going to go for a look that is in-between modern and county classic. That way you get the classic colours and stylings, but with modern clean lines and appliances.

Appliance wise I think I’m going to go for Smeg - they may cost a little more but if you buy more than two appliances at a time they usually apply some discount. I won’t be getting a Smeg fridge however as I think they look a little bloated. The Smeg ovens and stove tops look really nice and are apparently of a high build quality and will last a lifetime.

I’m definitely going to get a dishwasher, something I miss at the moment, and think that it will be worth my while as it makes more space in the kitchen as it stops washing up from piling up on the work services.

My dining room is in a shared open space with my kitchen, so I might splash out on a new dining table that fits with my new kitchen. I’m interested in getting some antiques and have found a few good shops that sell Antique Dining Tables. An antique dining table will soften the modern styling of the kitchen and should look really nice!
