Keep your left over fish!

My local fishmonger has the habit of giving me more fish than I actually want.  You can see why he does it, he’s not going to mess around giving me a precise 400g of Plaice when there is a whole fillet weighing 500g - lots of little scraps of fish will not sell well at a fishmongers.

So whenever I end up with more fish than I need, rather than cooking it and over-feeding, I cut it up into chunks and save it in the freezer.  Lots of little bits of mixed fish and seafood are great for a Fish Pie, a dish which is traditionally made up of fish and seafood scraps.

So next time you have some spare fish, prawns, squid, crab meat etc - bung it in  the freezer and make a nice big fish pie!
