Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain

A great read for anyone who enjoys cooking, food, and the odd bit of debauchery.
Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain is a trip into the hot steaming kitchens that Anthony has worked in, revealing some shocking kitchen stories that would make you think twice about ordering the Shrimp Special next time.
The book starts with Anthony talking how his passion for food started when he was on holiday with his family, and leads into his first catering job with a small seafood restaurant. Tails of tyrant head chefs and chopped fingers are as expected, but Anthony manages to fit in his many stories of sex, booze, and drugs into the mix which makes this a very thrilling read.
If you are thinking of getting into the catering industry, then this is the book to read. If you are not, then it’s still worth picking up thanks to it’s fast pace and constant humour. You will also learning something about food!
I thoroughly enjoyed this, so much that I’d recommend it to anyone.

I definitely agree - this book is really difficult to put down once you’ve started. And I will definitely never be ordering fish from a restaurant on a Monday night again….
