Toffee Apples!

Toffee Apples are so easy to make and will please both adults and kids.  You can also argue that Toffee Apples are a healthy sugary snack, since by eating one you will be getting one of your five recommended fruit & veg for the day.

These Toffee Apples are so easy to make and can be made well in advanced.  If you’d rather make Chocolate Apples you can always melt some milk chocolate and dip the apples in, rather than making toffee from scratch.

Ingredients
100g caster sugar per apple
Granny Smith apples, cored.
Strong skewers

  1. Heat the sugar in a non-stick frying pan over a medium heat until the sugar melts, be careful the sugar doesn’t catch on the pan.
  2. Thread each apple onto a skewer. Dip the skewered apple  into the caramel, ensuring that it gets completely covered.
  3. Set the covered apple down on some grease proof paper with the skewer end sticking up in the air.  Allow the toffee to cool and harden.
