Will we get to have a BBQ this summer?

Every summer I love to have nice, big, socialable BBQs which involve a lot of food, drinking, and messing around with mates. However this summer, the awful weather has meant there has simply not been the chance to have one so far. I am hoping we are going to be able to have one at some point this Bank Holiday as the sun is out and shining.

If we do get lucky and the sun decides to play ball this is what I’ll be serving…

Pork steaks marinaded in a spicy BBQ sauce, rosemary, honey, and soy.
Burgers sprinkled with cayenne pepper towards the end of cooking
Chicken drumsticks marinaded in lemon, thyme, basil, and olive oil.
Red peppers, courgettes, and aubergines grilled until soft and slightly black on the outside.
Whole spring onions, grilled until soft.
Bananas roasted in their skins, then sprinkled with cinnamon and served with Ice Cream.

I’ll let you know how I get on if we do have a BBQ - but more importantly let me know if you manage to have a BBQ this weekend and tell me what you did.
